First in the Family Reception

Bring your family and join us to celebrate the achievements of all first-gen students and their families during Wolfpack Welcome Week. Light refreshments will be provided.

Nav1Gate Summit is a professional development workshop for incoming first-year and transfer first-generation college students, designed to support students in building plans for success at NC State. Participants will complete a strengths inventory; learn about channeling their individual strengths; connect with other first-gen students and staff members; and develop goals for their time at NC State.

Participation in Nav1Gate Summit does not require a registration cost, and it provides participants with lunch.
First in the Pack Student Celebration Day
Thursday, November 8 | Free Expression Tunnel
Come leave your mark and celebrate the legacy first-generation students make on our campus! In honor of the national First-Generation College Celebration Day on November 8, all NC State first-generation college students are invited to participate in painting a mural on the Free Expression Tunnel. Giveaways and paint supplies are provided at this drop-in event.

Join us for a panel discussion featuring faculty and staff members who are also first-generation college students. You’ll learn about their college experiences and tips for success. Following the panel discussion, there will be a networking reception to provide additional discussion about student success.
